Using Fixel in Google Ads with DOM Events

Here’s how you can setup Fixel for Google remarketing Using DOM events.

    1. Create Fixel Tags
      1. Go to Google Ads
      2. Go to Audience Manager
      3. Click on + to add a new Audience
      4. Select Website Visitors
      5. In List Members click the drop down and select ‘Visitors of a page with specific Tags
    2. Create Tags for Fixel Basic

      1. Click on ” + New Tag ”
      2. Give your Tag a name For example: “Your site – Fixel High”
      3. Click on Save
      4. Copy Global Google Ads Code Snippet
      5. Copy your Conversion ID
      6. Copy the Specific Tag’s Label
    3. Create additional Tags for Fixel Medium and Fixel High by repeating Step 2.

If you haven’t already, Install the global Google Ads Snippet you copied in 2.4 on to your website, the tag will not work without it.

  1. Create a DOM event Snippet to fire your Google Ads Tags
    1. Take your Global ID, that you copied on step 2.5 and insert it into the ‘conversion_id’ on line 1.
    2. Take the label of the Fixel Basic tag you created and insert it into ‘Label_Basic’ on line 3.
    3. Take the label of the Fixel Medium tag you created and insert it into ‘Label_Medium’ on line 4.
    4. Take the label of the Fixel High tag you created and insert it into ‘Label_High’ on line 5.

  2. Copy the code snippet with the values you changed and add it to your Website.
